Where’s The Financial Education

“The main reason people struggle financially is because they have spent years in school but learned nothing about money. The result is that people learn to work for money… but never learn to have money work for them” – Robert Kiyosaki.

Learning to manage and invest your money is vitally important not only for school leavers, but for all adults interested in securing their future.  This video shows Robert Kiyosaki highlighting the basic concepts of financial literacy . He is quite a remarkable man who has a thorough understanding of the whole money system, economics and history. The main fundamental that has come to light is children’s financial education or lack of it. The system is heavily skewed towards keeping children unwise, financially illiterate and poor for life.

There are not even topics of discussion to get them thinking about how to look after themselves once they’ve left school and college.  And on top of that should they decide to go to university they are saddled with at least a £27,000 debt by the time they leave.  What kind of a terrible system have we got going on here. If you don’t get yourself and your children educated, you will spend your  whole life feeding the governments pockets and keeping yourself in the gutter.  That’s why it is up to us parents to first educate ourselves and then educate our children.

A good starting point is the book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki who so simply and eloquently describes the difference in mindset between the rich and the poor, he says “The main reason people struggle financially is because they have spent years in school but learned nothing about money.  The result is that people learn to work for money… but never learn to have money work for them”.  This is such a powerful and true statement that everyone should take note and go get their financial literacy up to scratch to protect themselves and grow their wealth.  Investing in gold and silver is one of the most fantastic building blocks in such a quest.
